Bailey's sundae with fruit loops in the middle. No, fruit loops and bailey's don't go too well together.
My posts are getting increasingly food-oriented. And I've gotten past the grieving stage.
The Omuraisu ( omelette rice) last weekend was....ok. But only because my expectations were elevated from watching too many japanese drama. Theoretically, the omelette which wraps around the fried rice has to be about 70% cooked so that when one slices the omelette slightly, the semi-cooked portions will quiver and spill out. The result is a heavenly combination of tomato sauce fried rice, egg and demiglace sauce ( or so "Lunch Queen" says).
Drool.
I must really check out the omuraisu in Singapore. Anybody tried some good ones yet?

I was ecstatic when I finally submitted my 4000 word report yesterday. The last few days were especially horrendous becuase I kept procrastinating about tying up the loose ends, yet I kept worrying whether I was able to complete everything on time. (read: broken sleeping cycles, 5am awakenings, endless downloading) Leaving the organisation of 20+ pages of appendices to the last minute was a very bad idea.
When I was done, I didn't feel any particular urge to celebrate, I thought I'd go grocery shopping. Ahahaha grocery shopping never felt better!
I guess I must have undergone a significant degree of sensory deprivation over the past few days. I was glad to see the familiar Hong Kong bakery. I was happy to see people choosing fruits at the green-grocers. I was overjoyed to see the range of pasta and cheeses in Woolworths (supermarket). I was very satisfied sitting on a bench with other aunties, eating a pineapple and coconut bun (freshly baked in the Hong Kong bakery, no less), and stare at the mannequins in the boutique opposite. And I had a great time thinking over what to cook for myself for dinner.
:)
Or maybe I've just become more of an obasan? (again?!)
