Eating cakes without cutting them.
We just tuck into them with our individual utensils. I vaguely remember once when we simply clawed at a cake with our hands. A common dreaded consequence is we often end up overeating, ie finishing the cake.
Anyway, the cake was for Dorothy's birthday, which we celebrated last weeek. Being the food connoiseurs we are, we chose to go to a popular and well-reviewed ramen place for a celebration. And being the persistent food connoiseurs we are, we insisted on waiting for the most famous ramen of the place, of which a mere 20 bowls are served daily.
So. Here it is!
Looks pretty plain, isn't it? For the uninitiated, the white stuff on top of the soup is pork fat. The reason this ramen was so limited was that they are only able to boil a limited amount of pork broth with the dissolved fat, collagen, ligaments, and all other connective tissue in a day.
I thought it got a bit disgusting as it cooled down because the noodles and soup started to coagulate together. But it was worth a try, nonetheless.
I'll be going out to eat omurice (omuraisu / ommelette rice) tomorrow. It will be my first ever omurice, not considering the ones I've made myself.
I can't wait!
