Summer is very hot.

I did and I got a sunburn, in spite of having applied my Garnier Kid's Sunblock twice.
But I managed to escape the heat a little by going to Tasmania, an island south of Australian mainland. Yes, Tasmania is known for Tasmanian Devils, which are known to attack other cute furry animals. And although Tasmania has a cooler climate, the sun sets after 9pm.

The capital of Tasmania is Hobart, whose CBD concentrates around their port. As you can probably guess, this means that Tasmanis, like many cities in Australia, are well-known for their seafood. I admit that I overindulged (again!). But I won't torture you guys with pictures of the succulent seafood.
Another highlight of Tasmania is Port Arthur, a cool, serene area where male convicts were kept in the 1800s. The beautiful scenery belies the harsh treatment of past convicts, many of whom were sent away to Australia for petty crimes. Given the amount of repressed human spirt that was once present there, Port Arthur is a haven for ghosts....and their stories.

Picture: Us huddling around the tour guide during the ghost tour. I witnessed no apparitions whatsoever. But the kids in my group were enough to create creeps.
So now, I am wilting under the sweltering heat. I don't think I can ever complain enough about the heat and the sun here. Aussies will probably kill me if they have any idea that I put down their beloved Aussie Sunshine. When it was freezing cold to take bath 6 months ago, it's just suffocatingly hot to linger in the bathroom. There are also more creepy crawlies around the house. I had to eliminate 2 cockraoches in my room yesterday.

But my roomies look quite happy though. Definitely time to (1) wear pretty summer dresses (2) Stock up on chilled/frozen foods (3) wait for autumn
