De-clutter
I have re-discovered so much good stuff while clearing all the stuff in the boxes under my bed - Letters, cards, group-journals, memos. Letter-writing was really quite the fad in my secondary school so me and my CCA mates would write to each other even though our classes were next to each other.
So fun!
Anyway I can't resist sharing this bit of super funny letter-writing from 2 of my CCA mates, nicknamed "Minime" and "Maxime" (I was Bigme and there was also a Skinnyme):
Date: sometime in '99?
Greetings Big-me,
How's thoust life? Received thou mail on Wednesday. Methinks thy wit's clever enough to think silly plot as this. Methinks thy drawing silly to the extent. Thy mature, doth you grow up. O power upon me, welcome to real life bozo. By the way, me haven't got back test of Chemistry. Methinks going to fail badly. How art thou doing?
Dost thou think me postcard cute? A postcard of wax (adopted from Romeo and Juliet, Act 1, Scene 3 line 76 describing Paris). Hmm, methinks should finis inherto before thy brain burst. Haf fun, wilt God Bless and take care.
Blessed, Minime & Maxime
Ah. The fusion of classic Shakespearean verses with modern-day worries.
And the letters have also reminded me: teenage girls can get SO jealous. About who's going around with whom, who goes to recess with whom, who doesn't wait for whom after recess, who's using whom as a sparetyre. Wow. And I was in a girls' school.
Group-journals are also super fantastic because you have one whole clique (my clique happened to have 9 people) writing in this small notebook. So when anybody is pissed off she could trash it out in the ntoebook. And the rest of us would defend ourselves (albeit defensively and angrily) with words.
Yeah. Even though I would complain about it from time to time, I miss the bitchiness of girls' school. Yes, even the petty quarrels, sulking and crying.
I don't think it will ever happen to me again.
